So I was like 'alright, um a scrub is a guy who think's he's fly and if you don't know what I'm talking about right now, there's your wife, I'm referring to the hit TLC song No Scrubs, in which they describe a scrub as a guy that absolutely could not date one of them. Like just a total loser. And so one, if you know anything about that song, if you start singing it, you're not going to stop. Alright. And so I'm in it. I'm like "no, I don't want your number. And I'm now in front of this guy's car dancing and he is justifiably upset. He, he knows what a scrub is. So we go inside and we enjoy our pizza. Everything is good. " [source]

We sing along to these songs and people adopt these words and they don't even realize that the song is MOCKING these very valuable people that make the hospital run. And THIS guy broadcast on NPR is using the same language. "We're the WORKERS that make the hospital run dopes. We're not LOSERS because of our lower income with these SCRUBS as our clothing. I bet this NPR Moth Hour guest would reform his language upon reflection.
